She was born on February 21, 1924 to Violet Jacqueline Rutherford Thibodeaux and Wallace Thibodeaux in Crowley, Louisiana. She has been a resident of Port Arthur since 1941.
Mamie married Willis Dewey McDonald on February 25, 1944, they had one daughter, Carmen Faye McDonald. Mamie attended St. Mary's Nursing School in Port Arthur and graduated in 1943. She worked as an LVN at St. Mary's Hospital Pharmacy and at Park Place Hospital Pharmacy until she retired in 1989. She later volunteered at Doctors Hospital. Mamie enjoyed line dancing with the Port Neches Senior Citizens and was a volunteer driver for Senior Citizens and Meals for the Homebound. Mamie served as queen of the Port Neches Mardi Gras Parade. She took art classes at the Old Woodshop in Orange where she perfected her artistic talents. Mamie was a member of Port Arthur Police Auxiliary. Mamie enjoyed travel throughout the United States with her friends at Great Outdoors and Sun Travel.
Mamie was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Viola Thibodeaux, her husband, Willis McDonald and her daughter, Carmen Faye McDonald.
She is survived by her brother, James Malcom Faulk and wife Ina.
Burial: Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves, Texas.
