Word was received Tuesday of the death of Lawrence WILLIAMS, 39, that morning in the Veterans Hospital at Grand Junction.
Mr. WILLIAMS was taken ill about three months ago at the family home in Whitefield, Oklahoma and he entered the veterans hospital at Muskogee, Oklahoma, transferring last Wednesday to the veterans hospital in Grand Junction.
Born in Steamboat Springs March 19, 1925, he lived and attended school here until his entry into the army where he served during World War II.
Upon his return from service he was married to the former Della Mae FORD on May 4, 1946 and to this union were born five children, Donald, Katherine, Larry Del, Robert and Allen.
Mr. WILLIAMS was employed by the Yampa Valley Electric Ass’n for several years, then with the Amos Construction Company which took him to work in Kansas and Oklahoma, the past five years.
Surviving besides his immediate family are his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John WILLIAMS, three brothers, Leonard of Sweet Home, Oregon; Bill of Burbank, California and Lloyd of Sutton, Alaska; one sister, Margaret HERBERT of Steamboat Springs and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are pending and friends are asked to watch for a notice posted at the Post Office.
Military services will be in charge of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
