Kamel was born to the parents of Carl and Marie Theresia Rapalier Stolns on Aug. 15th, 1876 in Sijsele, Belgium.

He was 7 years old when his sister Emily was born in 1881. Besides Emily, his siblings consist of Jules, Remmie, P.L. "Phonse" Alphonse, Joseph and a sister that passed at birth.

Kamel immigrated with his family from Moerkerke, Belgium and arrived in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 23rd, 1889. New York was their original destination but perelious time at sea took them on a alternate route. After nearly drowning at sea it took them until Aug 28th to reach their destination of Boulder, Colorado, where there was other speaking Flemish family who had paved the way. He met and married Minnie Isabelle Dillon in Boulder, Colorado File #1842. (record on file at the Federal Center in Colorado) and had a son by the name of John. Minnie passed of TB on September 20th 1914 and left my grandfather a widow with a son, John.

He again married another lady by the name of Mary Valince Jasko on November 15, 1915 in Boulder File #4868 and together they had a son, James LeRoy. He then went thru a adoption process to adopt my sister LaVaughn, as times were rough in the Depression era and the Great Dust Bowl.

Kamel received his WW1 Draft Registration Card a year before his father passed. His father passed a year later on May 25, 1918. His younger brother Alphonse P.L. Fostor passed in the great Flu Epedimic 1919. A month after P. L. Alphonse passed, his son James LeRoy was born.

Kamel was 72 years old when his youngest son LeRoy passed. Mary, his second wife, passed about a year prior to her son's death. His next marriage was to Bertha Rowley Neale, she passed of diabetes and he married a final time to Blanch Olga White who passed a couple years after Grandfather. She had been married before to Mr. Coleman and had children.

Kamel, my grandfather, passed in Longmont, Colorado, was cremated and buried in the Lyons Cemetery in Lyons, Colorado. His adopted daughter, LaVaughn, is also buried in the Lyons Cemetery.
