Popeye was a self-employed plumber for many years and passionately enjoyed duck and goose hunting.
He is survived by his daughters, Valarie Cumberland and her husband, Bo; Amanda Abshire and Jessica Abshire; son, William Abshire and his wife, Dana; father, Curtis Abshire; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Concetta Rollins and her husband, Malcolm; Kim Mazzola and her husband, Johnny; and Kay Benson; brother, Tommy Abshire; a host of other family members and friends.
Popeye was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Johnny Abshire.
Interment: Fairview Cemetery, Winnie, Texas.
