Emelia Matthews Brown was the wife of Tarlton Brown. Although she is not actually buried in the Baptist Meeting House Cemetery at the Boiling Springs. The Harley Reunion members purchased and placed a new marker last March in Emelia's honor.

Emelia came from the Matthews family for which Matthews Bluff on the Savannah River (in present -day Allendale County) was named.
Some Further information on their children is as follows:
William Duke Brown (1791-1866)married Mary Elizabeth Langley.
Almedia Brown (1793-1855)married Preston Harley(1792-1837),son of Lt.Joseph Harley III and Elizabeth Jackson.
Rev.Lewis Matthews Brown(1796-1876),a Baptist minister,married Elizabeth Fuqua,daughter of Col. John Fuqua of Virginia,. They are buried, along with many of their children, in the churchyard of Middlegroud Baptist Church in Screven County, Georgia.
