Lorrie Ann Cannon Jones, 51, of Wallace passed away Friday morning, Nov. 23, 2012 at her residence after a long illness. A celebration of Lorrie's life will be conducted by Neal Wirthlin in Greenwood Cemetery on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at noon.
She was born April 14, 1961 in Pitt County and was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Betty Grace Cross Cannon.
Lorrie took pleasure in raising her nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Her greatest contribution to life was her unconditional love toward all. She loved cooking and spending time with her family and friends even cooking Thanksgiving Dinner for her family. She embraced life, she never knew a stranger.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a canine companion, Sheena Marie Dose Jones.
Surviving are her husband of 31 years, Thomas Jones; her canine companions, Blackie, Bam-Bam, Lady Bird and Roxie; brother, James Thomas Cannon, wife, Debra, and children, Felicia Cannon (J.T., Gabbie and Daniel) and Roger Riggs of Chocowinity; sisters, Deborah Cannon Speight and husband, Clinton and children, Floyd Jeffrey Cannon, (Floyd Jeffrey Jr., and Sarah Elizabeth Cannon) of Pactolus, Melinda Grace Cannon (Hope Knowles, Danielle and Jason Harris) and Tommy Ervin Cannon (Ian Cannon, Julia Cannon and Michail White) of Stokes and Betty Cannon Roberson and husband Robert and children, Sammy Cannon, (Jessica and Brooke Cannon) of Snow Hill, Melvin Taylor of Shawnee, Okla. and Belinda Taylor, of Greenville; father-in-law, L.D. Jones of Wallace; sisters-in-law, Gail Jones and Angela Jones and children, Robyn Britt and Ashlea Raynor; brothers-in-law, Redtop Jones and children, Sandy and Jimmy Jones; Benji Jones and children, Ariel Jones, Stormy Jones, Serenity Jones and Skylar Jones; and special friends, Hazel Preston and Susan Walters.
