John Richard High, 30, Springfield, MO departed this life Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Creighton University Medical Center, Omaha, NE.

He was born December 15, 1980 in Springfield, MO.

He was preceded in death by his father James Ray.

Survivors include his mother, Kathy High, two brothers; Charles R. High and Gary D. High and his grandmother, Wilda High and many other family and friends.

Celebration of life services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 2, 2011 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m., prior to the services in the chapel.

John was an intelligent and creative man with a heart of gold. He loved his friends and family and was an aspiring writer whose first novel, part of a planned trilogy, had been published and released shortly before his untimely death.

John believed strongly in the Wiccan Rede and way of life, striving daily to become the person he wanted and needed to be. He was looking forward to a bright and promising future filled with love, happiness, and success.

John died from an accidental overdose of Fentanyl, caused by faulty manufacturing of the Fentanyl Pain Patch.
