Charles Benjamin Knox became a Private (now known as the rank of Trooper) on June 11, 1923.

Photo and bio compliments of Major K. McDerby, DSP (ret) and the Delaware State Police Museum.

Private Knox was a member of the group of officers which became the nucleus for the present Delaware State Police which began on April 28, 1923.

During the later years of his career he was stationed at Headquarters, which was then located at State Road in Georgetown.

Captain Knox retired from the Delaware State Police on January 1, 1944.
