Wybra Joseph Price, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the age of 74 at his residence while surrounded by his loving family.

Wybra, a man who whole heartedly loved the Lord, was a member of the Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church where he was an exceedingly active member. Loyal and dedicated to both his God and community, Wybra was the Assistant Fire Chief for the Morgan City Fire Department, having served the people of Morgan City for 31 devoted years until his retirement. Wybra was also a lifelong member of the Volunteer Fire Department of Morgan City during his off duty time, always willing and ready to serve. He was a United States Air Force veteran and a lifelong member of the American Legion. He also served as a Committee Member for Boy Scout Troop # 44. Wybra was known to enjoy the outdoors; as a fisherman, a hunter, and especially when spending time camping with his beloved family. Gardening was a favorite pastime, drawing pleasure in growing God's bounty and sharing with others. Most importantly, Wybra was a wonderful Grandfather and Great Grandfather, finding pride in spoiling his grandchildren.

Wybra is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Vice Price of Morgan City; a daughter, Janice Price Bailey and her companion, Christopher Marcel, of Morgan City; a son, Rev. Dr. Wybra Joseph Price, II and his wife, Judy, of Shreveport; four grandchildren, Samantha Fuselier and her companion, Joshua Becnel, Shauney Fuselier and her companion, Matthew Michel, Amanda Price, Wybra Joseph "Joey" Price, III and one great grandchild, Carter Becnel.

He is also survived by his brothers, Merlin Price and his wife, Miriam, Frank Price and his wife Jackie, Curtis Price and his wife, Theresa, Gerald Price and his wife, Barbara, all of Morgan City, and Don Price and his wife, Anna, of Bayou Vista; his sisters, Agnes Wright and her husband, Jim, of Thibodaux, Elizabeth Allen and her husband, Earl, of Pearl River, and Charlene Pye and her husband, Anthony, of Morgan City.

Wybra was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Agnes Price; his sister, Helen Daigle; and his three brothers, Lee, Ernest, and Eugene Price.

The family requests that visitation be observed Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church from 10 am until time of service at 11 am. Wybra will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Wybra's name to the Patterson United Methodist Church, 1204 Main Street, Patterson, LA, 70392.
