Dale Smith, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, LA passed away July 16, 2013 at the age of 61 after a brief battle with cancer, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Dale was employed with Bayou Boeuf Electric for over 30 years. Dale never met a stranger; to him everyone was his best friend. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Dale traveled throughout Louisiana and he was a big supporter of all the local Poker Runs. Dale was an avid gun collector and a huge fan of the New Orleans Saints and LSU. He was an Army veteran, serving his country during the Vietnam War, stationed in Germany for a few years before being discharged. Dale was an excellent provider for his family and a loving, dedicated father; doing everything he could to make sure they all succeeded in life. His sense of humor and his laid back approach to life inspired many. Dale will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Smith of Morgan City, LA; his stepsons Ryan Gegenheimer of Los Angeles, CA and Jeremy Gegenheimer of Lafayette, LA; his former wife Jennifer L.
