At his death, his sister, Mrs. R. C. Taber, of Buffalo and brother Eugene T. Crandall of Rochester along with his wife survived him.
Member of First Alfred Seventh Day Baptist Church. Connected with the mercantile business in Alfred, NY and fire and life insurance business. Treasure of Alfred University and president of the University Bank and Alfred Mutual Loan Association. Served as town supervisor for eight years.
After his funeral service at the church, his body was taken to Buffalo for cremation and his ashes placed in the family plot in Alfred Rural Cemetery.
