Second and youngest son of R.T. and Rose Lemley Stingley. Married to Dorcas Elenore Hammitt: father of 5 children, Diane Kathleen, Richard Elvin, Catherine Rose, John Wayne and Elvin Layne Stingley. Businessman and Fur Trapper for many years. Owner of Junction City Texaco, Club Tavern and The 99 Club & 'Y' Cafe, all of Junction City, OR and the Rainbow Tavern, Reedsport OR, until 1972. One brother: Orlie W Stingley, of Castle Rock, Wa. (deceased).

Elvin was nicknamed "Peach" by his grandmother as a child and the name stuck, until many years later when, as an adult, he began going by the name of 'Pete' instead. This name (Pete) was transferred on to his youngest son Elvin Layne, also as a nickname only.

Death due to pneumonia related conditions, Peace Health-Peace Harbor hospital, Florence Or.
Buried with parents and one son (Richard Elvin) in Rest Haven Cemetery, Eugene, Oregon.
