HAVRE — Harry R. Atchison, Havre, died Dec. 30, 1993, at his residence of natural causes. Funeral services are 2 pm Tuesday, Jan 4, at Van Orsdel United Methodist Church in Havre with the Rev Terry Dunn officiating. Burial with military graveside honors will be in Highland Cemetery.

Harry Atchison was born Feb 14, 1914, in Calvert, the son of Russell B and Ida Jane (Oxley) Atchison He was schooled in Geraldine. He served with the U S. Navy and received an honorable discharge in 1931 He was a member of Havre Eagles Club FO E 166. He was a former president of the Havre Eagles from 1985 to 1986.

On May 14, 1951, in Chinook, he married the former Laura Juanita Demars. The couple had resided in Havre since their marriage He worked in road construction for the City of Havre and Hill County, and retired in 1979. He was coach of the Havre Boxing Club for approximately 20 years He had served as state registration chairman of the Boxing Commission. He was a state boxing commissioner from 1989 to 1992 on the Montana Athletic Board. He was always interested in youth. He was a member of the Van Orsdel United Methodist Church of Havre.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Ida, and one daughter, Christina.

He is survived by his wife of Havre, one son, Russell Atchison of Cheney, one daughter, Toni Jo LaCroix of Smithfield, RI, three brothers, George Atchison of Sequim, Wash, Russell Atchison of Geraldine and Clyde Core of El Cerrito, Calif, four grandchildren, Teresa J and Timothy J Atchison of Spokane, Wash., and Misti and Nic of Smithfield, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials of one's choice are suggested. Funeral arrangements are by Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
