Eddie was born in Philadelphia to the late William & Rita(nee McCall)Owens and moved to Weymouth, NJ at the age of 8.
He retired from Comar Industries in Buena after 41 years of employment. Eddie enjoyed golfing, skiing, and hiking in his spare time. One of his fondest memories included his annual camp outs for his family.
Edward is survived by his wife Mary Ann(nee Matousch), daughters, Christine(George)Strang, Susan(Woody)Paisley, Lisa(John)Fogarty, and daughter-in-law, Karen Owens Newman, Larry Metzger, Rich(Donna)Metzger and Mary Anne Metzger-Chalmers.
He was also blessed with 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Brothers Jack, Marty(Terry), Billy(Theresa). Sisters Joanne, Rita, Barbara(Ray). Eddie was preceded in death by his son Michael, sister Agnes, brother Thomas and James.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday May 23, 2013 from 7-9 p. m. and on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 9-10 a. m. at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple St., Clayton, NJ 08312. Funeral Mass on Friday at 11 a. m. at the RC Church of the Nativity, 2677 Delsea Dr., Franklinville, NJ 08322.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Parish of St. Michael the Archangel, Church of the Nativity, 49 W. North St., Clayton, NJ 08312
