Doris P. Altland, 59, Newberry Township, died at 2:08 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2005, at York Hospital. Born September 27, 1945, in York, she was a daughter of John H. Rife of Newberrytown and the late Vera (Reever) Rife. She was a graduate of Cedar Cliff High School and had been a cook at Sibol's Restaurant for 18 years. She enjoyed camping and playing bingo. In addition to her father, Mrs. Altland is survived by her husband of 35 years, George S. Altland of Manchester; four daughters; two sons; 15 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a brother and three sisters. Funeral Thursday at William E. Little Funeral Homes, Manchester, Rev. Richard Stambaugh, Pastor of Ambassadors Bible Chapel, officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. [York Daily Record]
