Larry M. Abbott, 62, of Longmont, Colo., formerly of Milan, died April 21, 2004, from injuries received from a horse-related accident near his home.

Visitation is 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan, where Eureka Lodge 69, AF&AM, Milan, will conduct a masonic service at 11. Graveside services will follow at noon at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.

Larry was born Dec. 30, 1941, in Port Byron, the son of Luther and Dorothy Lynn Abbott. He married Barbara Sachleben Sept. 30, 1971.

He was a loving husband, avid horseman, father figure to nieces and nephews, and always willing to help family or friends.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; sisters, Sharon Watermeulen, Milliken, Colo. and Gretta Somner, Little Falls, Minn.; and 10 nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Therapeutic Riding Center or to CSU Veterinary School for Large Animals, sent in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St. Longmont, CO 80501.
