DARLINGTON -- Mrs. LaWann Fields Abbott, 86, died at her home Friday evening, June 28, 2002. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 1 in First Baptist Church with interment following in Grove Hill Cemetery directed by Belk Funeral Home.

Mrs. Abbott was born in Darlington County, daughter of the late Parron and Rosa Barnes Fields. She had retired from Dixie Cup/American Can Co. after 33 years of employment. Mrs. Abbott was a faithful member of First Baptist Church for 55 years and served the church in many capacities.

Surviving are her husband, Randolph B. Abbott of Darlington; a daughter, Joyce A. Tyner of Darlington; a grandson, Randolph E. (Judy) Tyner of Florence; two granddaughters, Mrs. Regina (Lester) Erving of Rock Hill and Mrs. Angela (Chris) Woollen of Southlake, Texas; six great-grandsons, Sidney R. Tyner of Columbia, Spencer R. Tyner of Florence, Travis N. Erving and Trenton S. Erving, both of Rock Hill, Christopher J. Woollen and Taylor P. Woollen, both of Southlake, Texas; also a faithful sister-in-law, Elizabeth A. Kinley of Darlington.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
