He was married to Polly Ann Owens, daughter of Charles and Sarah Owens, October 9, 1884. To this union were born eight children, all of whom survive. They are Mrs. May Kemper, Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Odessa Griffin, Eubank, Mrs. Millie Jane Bowes, Lafayette, Tennessee, Mrs. Sarah Smithern, Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Ethel Wylie, Wabasso, Florida, Mrs. Ruby Montgomery, Corydon, Indiana, Mr. Joe Correll, Cincinnati, and Owen Correll, Waynesburg. All were present for the funeral except Mrs. Wylie.
Mr. Correll confessed his faith in Christ at the age of 21, and had lived a devoted Christian life. He was a leader in the organization and building of Baptist churches at Ansel, Kidder, and Buncombe.
Funeral services were held April 22, at the Eubank Baptist Church of which he had been a member. Reverend C. M. Hill officiated. Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery.
Besides his wife and children, he left fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, two brothers, one in California and one near Waynesburg, who were unable to attend the funeral, and a host of relatives and friends.
A note to those who have used my photos of my great-grandparents on their Ancestry Family Trees, this is NOT David S. Correll, aka David Simpson Correll, born in 1868 to William Correll. Please check the 1870 and 1910 census records. Great-grandma Polly Ann OWENS is NOT Polly E. KEITH, married to David S. Correll. PLEASE REMOVE my pictures from the David S. Correll Ancestry trees.
