McALLEN, Texas - Manuel G. Acevedo Jr., 84, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 6, 2013 in McAllen, TX. Manuel was born November 25, 1928 to Manuel Acevedo Sr. and Maria Elijia Gonzalez.
Preceding him in death is his daughter, Estella Monrreal.
He is survived by his loving family; wife of 38 years of marriage, Lydia O. Acevedo; daughters, Eva (Juan) Mata, Sara (Alfonso) Mata, Lucia Cruz, Elizabeth (Ricardo) Banda; sons, Manuel (Janie) Acevedo, Noe (Maria Dolores) Acevedo , Abraham (Margie), Joel (Maggie), Arturo Acevedo; stepchildren; sisters, Maria Herrera and Linda (Daniel) Villarreal; brother, Elias (Linda) Acevedo. Also left to cherish his memory are his 44 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, July 9, 2013 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at Ceballos Funeral Home in McAllen, TX. A chapel Service will take place on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Ceballos Funeral Home in McAllen, TX. Interment will follow at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen, TX.
