Mrs. Creekmore was born in Hyde County and was the daughter of James and Pearl Jennette Brinn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Lester Creekmore Sr. Mrs. Creekmore was a dedicated mother and grandmother.
She was a graduate of Roanoke Bible College and a longtime member of the Elizabeth City Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Creekmore Stoneking and her husband, Robert, of Point Harbor, N.C.; her son, N. Lester Creekmore and his wife, Alison, of Raleigh, N.C.; four grandchildren, Justin H. Stoneking, Brianna L. Stoneking, James L. Creekmore and John N. Creekmore; her sister, Elma Jones of Chesapeake, Va.; a sister-in-law, Doris L. Creekmore of Grandy, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, April 9, at 3 p.m. at the Elizabeth City Church of Christ with ministers Homer Styons and Greg Biggs officiating.
Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City, N.C. The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to: the Elizabeth City Church of Christ, 1923 N.
