Lela and James met in Chula, Missouri while he was working on a farm. They dated and became engaged before he enlisted in the US Army during WWII.
After his discharge, they married on December 21, 1945. To this union, 4 children were born. She and the family traveled with her husband when his work took him across the US, eventually settling in Ephrata, Washington.
She fell, broke a leg, surgery was performed, however, it was unsuccessful, and she passed away in the hospital. Private services were held.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn, David. Barbara, and James. 4 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and 1 sister of Chula, Missouri.
