He was born 4 Feb 1844 in Ohio, and when he came to this county he first resided near the Christian saw mill north of the city. He is survived by his widow and four children, Rueben A. Heckman, Mrs Claude Huston (Andy) and Mrs. F. W. Willmeier (Elsie May) of Ft.Wayne, and Mrs Otto Jackson (Cozzetta) living southwest of Hntg.,IN; two brothers, Joseph Heckman of Ossian and half brother, Samuel Campbell of Markle, and 5 grandchildren. Burial Mt.Hope Cem.
