John Carl Jones, 74, expired at the Cleveland County Nursing Home, Rison, Arkansas on December 29, 1994.

Mr. Jones was born in Fountain Hill, Ashley County, Arkansas on December 1, 1920.

Mr. Jones was the son of the late John Britton and Marie Harville Jones.

Mr. Jones was a member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church at Woodland and was a retired teacher for 36 years, and retired Basketball Coach at the Woodlawn School Systems for 23 years. He also coach at several other School District.

Mr. Jones serve in The United States Army, and was a Veteran of World War II Army Air Corps.

Preceding him in death besides his parents were two sons, John Ronald Jones and Gus Donald Jones.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Pierce Jones of Woodlawn, Cleveland County, Arkansas, Two sons; Jimmy Carl Jones of Crossett, Arkansas, Julian Pierce Jones of Woodlawn, Cleveland County, Arkansas, and One daughter; Shirley Helen Jones Marin of Forth Worth, Texas, Two Brothers; Earl Jones of Bastrop, La, James Jones of Woodlawn, Cleveland County, Arkansas, a Sister; Helen Jones Tilbury of Bastrop, La., and Four Grandchildren.

Funeral Services was schedule for today at 2 p.m. at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church of Woodlawn, Cleveland County, Arkansas, Revs Jackie Richardson and Jean Gregory officiating.

Burial will follow at Flat Creek Cemetery, Ashley County, Fountain Hill, Arkansas, under the direction of Buie's Funeral Home of Rison, Arkansas
