Bruce Calf Robe – Oomanistohkiitopii (Many Horse Rider)was born on October 4, 1953 to Ben and Myrtle Calf Robe at Blackfoot Hospital. He received his early education at Crowfoot School and Senior High School in Vulcan. Bruce completed the following trades/courses; heavy machinery at Fort McMurray, Security Guard training then worked at Remand Center, Pottery course at O.S.C.C. He was a ranch hand for Bud Maynard then worked at band ranch for six years. Worked at land claims and later became the Chairperson for the Land Claims Commission and has been with Land Claims for 21 years. His passion and hobbies included ranching, racing horses in the B circuit, powwow singer, golfing, rodeo, handgames, a member of the Crowfoot Drummers, later the Eagle Society, Siksika Handgame Club, and Nai-soo-wa Society. He made his Cursillo in 1992. Bruce also enjoyed spending time with his friends at Land Claims Office.

Bruce is survived by his wife Wanda, his children; Lisa, Kendell and Wendell. His traditional children; Boyce, Tash, Jolie, Kevin Stevens, grandchildren; Chalaine, Claudia, Shyla, Kale, Devon, Joziah, David, Matthias, Joshua, Trenton, Sheldon Jr, Sadie, Riley, Felicia, Rhianna, and Darcy Jr., his brother Ed (Marie) and sister Sharon, as well as numerous nieces, nephews & extended families: Anderson, Sitting Eagle, Crow Chief, Calf, Black Kettle, Rabbit Carrier, Weasel Head, Bear Robe, Weasel Moccasin, Wings, Rides at the door, Across the Mountain and his Land Claims Family.

He was predeceased by baby son David, daughter Charmaine; parents Ben and Myrtle; siblings Clara, Sonny, Kathy, Wilfred, Donna, George, Larry, niece Janice, and nephews Elton and Leland.

Wake Services were held at Sister Celine Parish Hall, Siksika Nation, AB on Wednesday June 26, 2013 at 5:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (Siksika Nation, AB) on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Crowfoot Cemetery (Siksika Nation, AB). A huge heartfelt thanks and gratitude go to Dr. Joni McNeely, Dr. Radinskaia, Dr. Alex Aspinall and Joni Tsourgrianis, the kind, caring and compassionate staff at Chinook Hospice and Siksika home care staff. A special thank you to his nieces who were at the hospice daily to assist in their uncle's care; Tracey, Bernadette and Loreli, sister in law Bobbi Bull Bear.
