Carl Oscar Peterson, 79, of 1609 W. Indiana, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon in the restroom of the Theatre Bar restaurant. Mr. Peterson who lived with his niece and her husband, Mr. & Mrs Harry A. Smith, was on his way to the doctor's office for a check-up when he died.
He was born May 4, 1877, in Kalmar, Sweden, and was never married. Mr. Peterson
was a track laborer with the New York Central railroad until his reitrement April 30, 1942. Later
he worked four years with the Strom Brass foundry and retired because of ill health three years
ago.
Immediate survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Hulda Charlson of Elkhart, and Mrs. August
Nelson of Chesterton.
Services will be held at the Westbrook Funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev.
Carl E. Benander, pastor of Augustana Lutheran church, will be in charge, with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today.
