In the heart of Gloversville, New York, a light named Haley Joy Gibson illuminated the world on November 17, 2008. Born to Scott and Sommer Gibson, she was a vibrant addition to a loving family that included her siblings Scott Jr., Christian, and Alicia. Haley's journey, though tragically short, was filled with moments that captured the essence of joy and innocence.

Haley's world was one of exploration and delight. At Rainbow preschool, she was the embodiment of happiness, her laughter and smiles a constant presence. She reveled in the world of 'Dora the Explorer', 'Sponge Bob Square Pants', and princesses, each day a new adventure in her eyes.

Her sudden departure from this world on February 28, 2013, due to Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a rare and aggressive brain tumor, left a profound void. She was only four years old when she passed away at Albany Medical Center, leaving behind a community in mourning, reflective of the profound impact she had on those around her.

In her brief time, Haley taught us about the beauty in everyday moments and the purity of childhood joy. Her family, including her maternal grandparents Joy and Steve from Nevada, alongside many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, cherish her memory and the light she brought into their lives.

The community's response to Haley's passing was a wave of compassion and empathy. People from diverse backgrounds came together to offer their condolences and support to the Gibson family, a testament to the love and happiness Haley spread during her life.

The community's outpouring of love was immense. Messages from Robert & Jeanie Cole, Betsy Hastings, Linda Cintula, Clara Rougier, Sheri DeMagistris, Joann Wille, Jane Paris, Alma Getman, Rachelle, Ryan, Matthew, and Kenzie; Charlene Gugenberger, the Lowrys, Joe & Laurie Liszewski, Dondi Brunetto, Amanda Darling, Shannon Frascatore, Deborah David, Dave and Amy Snell, David & Cindy Arnold, Lois Hayes, Maryann M. Walker, Jennifer Fountain Lachmayer, Tara A, Deb Skinner, Jon Swart & family, Angella, Todd, Ryan Whitehouse, Denise Spedding, Kristi, Henry, and family, Brian and Cindy Moore, the Crandall family, Melissa & Rick Port, Lawrence Samuel Horning, Matthew Rose & Lisa Williams, Keegan Holmes, Preston, and Monique Simons, Fran Watson, Cindy Orcutt, Jo Ann Kiffney, Rev Kathy L Reese, Susan Spraker, Vikki Wilson, Arlene Knapp, Candis Gambino, Joanne, Chris Sutliff, and Diana Javarone resonated with sympathy and support.

Haley's funeral service at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Dr. RW, was not just a farewell but a celebration of a life that, though brief, was incredibly meaningful.

Haley's memory finds a special place at Tutu's Toppers in Winnemucca, Nevada. Owned by her grandmother Joy Sanders, this bakery is more than a business – it's a sanctuary of memories, mirroring the joy and innocence of Haley's own life. This was evident when Dan Schwartz, a Nevada Treasurer and GOP gubernatorial candidate, visited, learning not just about baking but also about the love and legacy Haley left behind.

Haley Joy Gibson's life was a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the capacity for love in the face of unimaginable challenges. She taught us to appreciate the simple joys of life and to hold our loved ones close. In her memory, we are reminded to approach life with the same wonder and enthusiasm that Haley did, cherishing each moment as she did in her short but impactful journey on this earth.
