Ann Loretta Donily, born on March 16, 1937, in Chicago, Ill., peacefully passed away on June 22, 2013, at Collier Hospice in Wheat Ridge, Colo. She had moved to Wheat Ridge, in 2012.

Ann was adopted by Marion and Edgard Franco-Ferreira and is survived by her older brother, Edgard Franco-Ferreira, biological son of her adoptive parents. As a young adult, Ann attended and graduated from Penn State University, where she studied fine art and received her bachelor's degree. After graduation, Ann pursued a career in art through teaching. She also provided private swimming lessons and traveled frequently with her mother. She eventually moved to California, where she had her two children. After a few years in California, she moved to Greeley, where she resided for more than 40 years. During her time in Greeley, she continued her career in art as an illustrator and advertising manager with a small, local Greeley newspaper. She also was employed with Joslins as an art director and illustrator. Over the years, Ann made herself known in the Greeley community through her contributions and illustrations in the political opinion section in The Tribune. Her moment of fame was in 2008 when Ann was selected to hand paint an ornament that adorns the Christmas tree in the White House in Washington, D.C.

Above all, Ann was very active in and involved with her church community for many years. Once she retired from the workforce, she started her own business and continued to create beautiful artwork for her clients, friends, her church and fellow members. Ann always mentioned her talent as God's gift to her and, in turn, to others. Her paintings are accompanied by scripture, which speak of her journey with God, her art and her faith.

Ann loved God, her community, her church, her family and friends, and sharing her gift. She lived for God and shared her love and her life through her art.

Ann is survived by her daughter, son, grandson, and three granddaughters.

Service for Ann will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2013, at Calvary Chapel of Greeley.
