Abram William De Mallie:;

A 33rd Degree mason, Master of the Lodge voted in a few times at Providence , Rhode Island Masonic temple/lodge!

He was my Grandaddy Issac Ernest De Mallie eldest brother. Thusly my Great Uncle.

Who he as his other brother Bayard Thomas De Mallie set up in business with hat and high end clothing stores. Abram in Providence, Rhode Island you will see the Gigantic Masonic Hall across from the Rhode Island State house. It is a Five Star hotel, sports arena, and shopping mall. Abram was elected grand Master a few times in the Masonic Lodge. He was a great friend of Baseball great, Babe Ruth, who used to come visit with him all the time and were and became great friends.

Abram was single, dating, and a ladies man who when back in Lowell, Middlesex County, Massachusetts staying over at a boarding house near my Grandaddy and Grandmother's houses was SHOT by a maid who came from Providence , R.I. and STALKED ABRAM and shot him saying.. "well if I cant have ya no women shall" BANG. It Headlined in the LOWELL SUN. He while recovering calling my Grandmother everyday was the Undertaker/Mortician asking how Uncle Abe was/is.. finally Grandma said " oh he is coming home from the hospital finally today" oh guess what the phone calls stopped.. and later she had other professionals care for Abe's burial...

HOLD LOWELL WOMAN UNDER BONDS IN SHOOTING CASE

LOWELL, Massachusetts, October 29, (AP) Mrs, Catherine S. Gregoire, 48 was today held in $5,000 bail for hearing November 7th charges with assault with intenet t0o murder Abram William De Mallie, 51. She entered a plea of not guuilty. De Mallie's name was on the danger list at the local hospital in Lowell, where a .32 caliber bullet was removed from his abdomen. In a brief statement De Mallie said the shooting, which occured in his apartment in the boarding house was not accidental.

Uncle Abe's case,
the disposition was from the JUDGE to the woman who shot him, "Leave Lowell, and do not return, or you will go to jail."

Your grandmother said that he had been up to 275 Gibson Street for Sunday dinner, had gone back to his rooming house, put his old Essex car in the garage and went to his room, and the woman burst into the room " Abe, if I can't have you, no one else will--Bang,
bang or pow, pow."

There were big headlines in the Lowell Sun and Boston papers: DE MALLIE HOVERS NEAR DEATH and U. Abe's friend called every day to inquire about ABE and when Madeline said, "Abe is coming home tomorrow", he called no more.
Uncle Abe and Campbell lived in the attic in one of those rooms which was a bedroom, and that may have been about 1931 and then I think Campbell moved down and spent a year (school) year with his grandmother because it was nearer the train to Cambridge (Harvard) .

U. Abe died
12th of May, 1937 in Lowell and was buried in Rochester, Monroe County, N.Y. May 15, 1937.

If my addition is correct the age at death is incorrect. I copied this out of the register at Mt. Hope:
