The couple spent the next 47 in Southern California, 42 of which were in Rowland Heights. They moved to Mesa in 2006. Eldene loved her family. She raised four children: Robert, Jonia, Cathy and Michael. She has three granddaughters, Janelle, Jenny and Elizabeth, and one great granddaughter, Amy.
Eldene served in many positions in church, including Relief Society President for five years, Young Women's President, Stake Cultural Refinement leader, Ward Music Chair/Choir Director, and Primary pianist for about 10 years. After Bob and Eldene moved to Mesa, she served as Relief Society Chorister.
Eldene loved her family, books, playing the piano, singing, traveling, the arts, and gardening. Her great travel accomplishment was making it to all 50 states– the last of which were in October , 2011
