Son of James Needham and Mary Ann, husband of Anna Gerrodette and father of Muriel Needham (married Schenck).

Patrick John Needham petitioned for citizenship on February 16, 1921 in Rhode Island. His petition stated that he was born on February 16, 1900 in Drummin, County Mayo, Ireland, resided at 41 Prospect Place, Brooklyn, NY, occupation butcher, and had emigrated to the U.S. on the 25th of April, 1921 aboard the S.S. Celtic, which sailed from Liverpool to New York. His petition was granted on September 26, 1928.

In 1930, John Needham, aged 29, was living in Port Jefferson, Brookhaven, NY, boarding in the home of Sarah B. Dayton, aged 69, on Jones Street. He was shown to be a salesman for a meat market.

In 1940, John Needham, aged 42, was living in Patchogue, NY, with his wife, Anna Needham, aged 55. He was shown to be a meat cutter at a retail meat market. Also living in the household were stepdaughter, Eleanor Linehan, aged 28, and her husband, Neil Linehan, aged 29, and their son, James Linehan, aged 2, stepdaughter, Muriel Schenck, aged 26, and her two daughters, Patricia A. Schenck, aged 3, and Judith Schenck, aged 1.

Obituary - Jack Needham of 187 Maple Avenue, Patchogue, died Friday at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital. Born in Ireland, he had lived in Patchogue 40 years, and was a retired Mutual Fund salesman. He was a member of the Patchogue Elks Club.

He is survived by his wife, Anna, and two daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Linehan and Mrs. Muriel Schenck, all of Patchogue; two brothers, Michael of Riverdale, N.Y., and John T. Needham of Ireland, and several nieces and nephews.

Elks and Rosary services were held at the Ruland Funeral Home. A Requiem Mass was offered at St. Francis de Sales R.C. Church, Patchogue. Interment was in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Patchogue.
