Andrea "Andy" Scheurer Balius of D'Iberville, MS went to be with the Lord on June 20, 2013, after a long battle with breast cancer. Born on July 15, 1947 in San Diego to the late Donald and Katherine Scheurer of Falls Church, Virginia, she is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, Andrew A. Balius, Sr. and sister, Janet Curry of Cleveland, Ohio. Andy was a beautiful example of strength and courage to her children, Eric A. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Katherine "Katie" Elizabeth Balius (1982).

Andy received a Bachelor of Science from Catawba College in Salisbury, NC and a Masters in Speech and Audiology from the University of Virginia. She retired after more than 25 years of service as a Speech Therapist at the V.A. Medical Center in Biloxi, MS. Andy then began her second career as a Broker Associate at Coldwell Banker United Realtors of Ocean Springs.
Andy was an active member of P.E.O. Chapter D in Biloxi and a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Gulfport, where she loved to attend weekly Bible studies and church services.

The Balius family would like to extend much gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at Singing River Cancer Center, as well as the nurses and staff of Singing River Hospice of Light.
