Organized Crime Figure.

Danny Iamascia, of 2313 Belmont Avenue, the Bronx, whose criminal career included services for Ciro "the Artichoke King" Terranova and Dutch Schultz. Danny's brother was Anthony, a Bronx Bail Bondsman whose office was located at 647 Cresent Avenue. The same location shared by Joseph "Joe the Baker" Catania for his alleged loansharking business and where "Joe the Baker" was put on the spot by Joseph Valachi and "Buster from Chicago." Anthony Iamascia was also an officer of the Tepecano Democratic Club which had their office located at 747 East 187 Street in the Italian section of the Bronx.

On December 8, 1929, Danny along with Joseph "Joe the Baker" Catania, John "Zacci" Savino and Ciro Terranova were accused of orchestrating an armed robbery at the Roman Gardens restaurant located at 2401 Southern Boulevard, the Bronx. The gangsters interrupted a banquet honoring Bronx Magistrate Albert H. Vitale which was sponsored by the same Tepecano Democratic Club.

Two years after the banquet heist, Danny Iamascia was killed by two NYC Police Detectives, Julius Salke and Steve DiRosa, on June 18, 1931, at approximately 6:10 am, opposite 1212 Fifth Avenue (across from Central Park) during the bloody Schultz-Coll War. He succumbed to his wounds at the age of 30 at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan.

His church service was held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in the same Bronx neighborhood where he lived. Danny's body was laid to rest in a silver $10,000 coffin of which Iamascia's name was engraved in gold lettering. His final resting place is currently at Saint Raymond Cemetery (Bronx) and was entombed in a $25,000 mausoleum but was later moved to a simple grave for unknown reasons.
