Mrs. Audra Earline Barbee, 76, of Wilmot, who was born August 25, 1927 in Bentonia, MS, died Saturday, February 14, 2004, at Beverly Health Care in Lake Village. A resident of Wilmot since 1975 and a former resident of Indianola, MS, she was a nurse's aide at the Wilmot Nursing Home until she retired in 1989 and was a Baptist.
She is survived by two brothers, Albert Murphy of Clinton, MS, and James Murphy of Wilmot; three sisters, Gladys Owens of Lake Providence, LA, Opal Stevens of Florence, MS, and Clara Ann Hastings of Memphis, TN; and a host of nieces and nephews and Wilmot friends that she loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, T. T. and Perlie Mae Hatchcock Murphy, and one sister, Edna Peterson.
Funeral services were at 3 p.m., Monday, February 16, in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Philip Bowles officiating. Burial followed services at the Wilmot Cemetery. Pallbearers were Steve and Stephen Otwell, Cayce Stock, James Crossley, Robert Stanley and Herbert Shelton.
