Mrs. Dessie C. Sparks, 92, died at 3:48 p.m. Saturday at her rural Etna Green residence. She was a sister of Uniondale residents.
Born July 12, 1903 in Wells County, she was a daughter of William & Rosetta Maddux Haflich. Her marriage to Maynard W. Sparks, who died June 3, 1977 took place March 29, 1922. She was a homemaker and had resided in the area since 1936.
Surviving are two sons, Loyal Sparks of Etna Green, and Max of Nappanee, Mrs. Lewis (Doris) Yoder of Nappanee, Mrs. Craig (Marilyn) Hughes of Wakarusa, and Mrs. James (Carol) Young of Rutledge, TN; a brother, Jay Haiflich of Uniondale; a sister, Leota Kline of Uniondale; 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren & seven great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be a 1 p.m. Thursday a Horeb Cemetery near Uniondale.
Friends may call Wednesday at Thompson & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, where rites will be officiated by Rev. Leland Culp.
Memorials to Mt. Tabor Church of God, of which she was a member.
