Robert grew up with three brothers and one sister, Joe, Richard, Melvina and William. Robert served in the Marines but was honorably discharged shortly before basic training was over. Robert decided the military wasn't the life he wanted so he started a tree trimming business with his older brother Joe Harold McNabb in Tulsa, Oklahoma, who proceeded him in death.
Robert married Dorothy Loraine McGonigal, who preceded him in death, and had two children Roberta and Robert Jr. Both his brother and late wife are buried in Tulsa, Ok.
Robert left Oklahoma and settled in Colorado Springs, CO where he became a produce Vendor and met his second wife, Beverly Darlene Ferguson.
Robert passed away on Friday October 12th 2007 in the St. Francis hospice care hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado after having suffered several strokes and catching a bad case of pneumonia. Robert will be cremated at the Evergreen Funeral Home 1830 E. Fountain Blvd. Colorado Springs, 80910. His ashes will be scattered to the four winds on Pikes Peak Mountain in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Robert is survived by his wife, Beverly Darlene Ferguson of Colorado Springs, CO, a sister Melvina McNabb Fack, of Tulsa, OK, a brother Wiliam Howard McNabb & Edith McNabb of San Pablo, CA, and a sister in law Virgie Lucille Goodman McNabb of Tulsa, OK.
He is also survived by two children, daughter Roberta Lea McNabb Goodman & William Goodman of Tulsa, Ok, and
a son Robert Lee McNabb Jr. & Peggy Rowe McNabb of Fort Worth, TX, four step daughters Shelly (McGonigal) Bowan & Jerald Bowan of Tulsa,OK, Sherry McGonigal Starks, of Andover, KS, TinaSue Friel & Christopher Friel of Colorado Springs, CO, and Shari Baker & Sidney Baker of Colorado Springs, CO.
He is also survived by three grandchildren, ten step grandchildren, two great grandsons, seven step great grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.
