NATHAN MADDUX, 83, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William A. Haiflich, three miles east of Markle, yesterday morning at 10 o'clock. Death was due to old age and a liver problem. Mr. Maddux had been seriously ill for about five weeks.
The deceased was a former resident of Markl, having resided there about 10 years after retiring from active work as a farmer. Two years ago he went to live with his only daughter following the death of his wife. He leave one sister, Mrs. Samuel Campbell, who by his death is the last of a large family of children. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Horeb Church. Rev. Slater officiating. Interment will be in the cemetery near the church.
