He was born on Aug. 26, 1935, in Jasper County near Newton, to Cecil Ray and Ruby (Leffler) Alexander. He married Roberta Ann Foster on Dec. 3, 1955. He later married Shirley (Bornsheuer) Delbridge on March 16, 1984, in Princeton. Paul graduated from Newton High School and retired from LTV Steel in 2001.
Paul is survived by his wife of 29 years, Shirley Alexander of Princeton; his children, Chris (Art) Reed of Tiskilwa, Dave (Therese) Alexander of Ft. Worth, Texas, Lori (Doc) Sundin of Haltom City, Texas, Mark (Joyce) Alexander of Naples, Fla,, and stepchildren, Dale (Lois) Osborn of Princeton, Jim (Amber) Delbridge of Princeton, Bill (Aly) Delbridge of Naples, Fla., and Alan (Diane) Delbridge of Tiskilwa. Surviving as well are four grandchildren, 18 stepgrandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and 20 stepgreat-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother Roy Alexander of Willow Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Don and Kenneth Alexander; one sister, at birth; his stepdaughter, Debbie Sissel and stepgranddaughter, Sara.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Norberg Memorial Home. Chaplain TerryAnn Dumyahn will officiate. Burial will follow in the Elm Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m.Friday in the funeral home.
