Interment will be on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. in Commerce Cemetery, Commerce Twp. Rev. Paul Wargo, officiating. (At Jean's request, the Hallelujah Chorus will be played at the recessional by Elaine Prueter, organist.) Arrangements entrusted to the Union Lake Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 1233 Union Lake Road, White Lake.

CHURCH MEMORIAL

Jean Franklin graduated from Concordia Teachers College in River Forest, Illinois and came to Cedar Crest as a teacher in our Lutheran School in 1960. She married Karl Reichmann and the couple bought a house off Commerce Road in the same subdivision as the church parsonage. Mr. Reichmann passed away a few years later and in 1967 Cedar Crest Lutheran School closed, but Jean remained a member of the congregation. She finished her career teaching business classes at Lutheran High School West (from 1968-72 Pastor Wargo taught with Jean at Lutheran West).

For many years Jean was a guiding force at Cedar Crest, particularly for Mary Martha and the Women's ministry at our church. She remained active and loyal despite failing health until her death. It truly could be said that our church was her life, and Jean's legacy will live on. She left her entire estate to our congregation, and through her bequest. Jean will continue to be a blessing to our church for years to come.
