The funeral for Leslie Ann Peck, 5, Gypsum, killed by a school bus in front of her home will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church here.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Peck.

The accident happened Friday afternoon.

Sheriff's officers said Leslie got off the bus and started around behind it but then apparently changed her mind and went in front of it just as the bus started to move on. The driver, Jean Sutton, Gypsum, didn't see her.

Leslie was taken to St. John's Hospital, Salina where she died 2 hours later.

The Rev. Joseph Sheetz will officiate at the funeral. Burial will be in Poheta cemetery, east of Kipp.

Leslie was born May 27, 1969 at Wichita. She was a kindergarten student at Gypsum elementary school. Leslie was fluent in both English and Spanish since she and her parents regularly spent each winter in Mexico. She was their only child.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Church.

Friends may call at the Gillum funeral home, Gypsum.

The rosary will be read at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Her body has subsequently been moved to All Saints Cemetery, Saline Co, KS where she shares a stone with her parents, Emma and Lloyd Peck.
