Ruth H. Mitchell was born to Lynn A. Hodgert and Ruth W. Hodgert in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Graduated mid-term from Modesto High School in 1933. She also attended Modesto Junior College. Ruth worked in a dental office during her high school and college years. She later worked in the office as a bookkeeper of a Tire store and at the First United Methodist Church.

She then worked at the Don L. Davis Paint Store where she became known as the "Wall Paper Lady". From there Ruth opened "R. M. Associates Interiors."

Predeceased by her parents and both sisters, Jean Elam and Marilynn Boren Searle.

Ruth is survived by her children, Ret. Lt. Col. Kenneth Michael Wallace (Helen) of Mt. Green, Utah, Lynne Wallace Wagner of Modesto and Gayle Wallace Plummer of Lodi; twelve grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren; and her beloved rescue cats, "Bandit" and "Shadow."

Private burial at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Memorial services will be held at the LDS Church on Orangeburg and College Avenue at 11 am. Thursday, June 6th.
