Mildred Geraldine "Gerry" Holstun, formerly from Memphis, passed away on June 3rd, 2013 in Kansas City, MO. Gerry was born on August 24th, 1918 in Dixon, MO to Elmer and Flossie Blanton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill and sister Jessie. Gerry retired from the Mid South Fair and spent her winters after retirement working at the Florida and Georgia state fairs. She was a member of Eudora Baptist Church for 50 years. She enjoyed Genealogy and completed and published the family history for both Blanton and Holstun families. Gerry married William LeSueur Holstun in 1942. They were happily married for 53 years. Gerry is survived by her son Bill Holstun and wife Sue of Lenexa, KS; grandson Chris; great grandchildren Andy and Ashley; and her loving niece and nephews. Visitation is scheduled June 6 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Memphis Funeral Home at 5599 Poplar Ave. Services are set for 10 a.m. Friday June 7 at the same location with burial to follow at Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64145.
