Mr. Baker was born Aug. 8, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio, and had lived in Alaska for more than 40 years. He lived in Fairbanks and Kenai before moving to Anchorage. Mr. Baker attended the Alaska Electrical Union Apprenticeship School and went on to work with IBEW Local 1547 at Chugach Electric as a power lineman for 28 years. He retired in 1998 as a 29-year union member. Mr. Baker had served in the Army National Guard and was a member of Turnagain Church of Christ. He enjoyed boating, fishing and traveling. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and helping others. His family said: ''Dana always will be remembered for his ready smile and generous hugs. He was a very giving man who always wanted to help and to encourage others.'' Mr. Baker is survived by his wife, Roberta Baker of Anchorage; sister and brother-in-law, Tanya and Len Huffman of Ohio; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Sheriee of Anchorage; sons and their significant others, Mark and Trinette and Brian and Karen of Anchorage; stepsons, Eddie and his wife, Sitarih of Anchorage, and Trent Guinn of Anchorage; grandchildren, Zachary, Autumn, Amberly, Thomas and Taileigh, all of Anchorage; niece, Heidi of Colorado; nephew, Jason of Colorado; father- and mother-in-law, Robert and Lorraine Lenton of Arizona; and many other dear friends throughout Alaska.
