Robert Ellsworth Baldwin, 91, died Saturday, May 25, 2013, of natural causes at a Fort Worth hospital. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday in Skinner Silva Funeral Home Chapel, 122 W. Samano, Edinburg. Interment: Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Skinner Silva Funeral Home. Mr. Baldwin was born Nov. 8, 1921, in Indianapolis, Ind., to William and Permelia Baldwin. He was married to Edna Mae Lewis on April 24, 1942, until her death Oct. 26, 1999. He graduated from Indianapolis Shortridge High School in 1939 and received a marketing degree from Columbia University. He was a World War II veteran with the Marine Corps, a 33rd-degree Mason and was an Eastern Star worthy patron. He was to receive his 60-year Masonic pin later this year. Mr. Baldwin retired as an executive at Ames Co., a division of Miles Laboratories in 1977 after over 30 years of service. He and his family lived in Cartersburg, Ind., Phoenix, Ariz., and Elkhart, Ind. After his retirement, he and his wife lived in Elkhart, Ind., Guadalajara, Mexico, and Victoria, Edinburg, Corpus Christi and ultimately Arlington. In retirement, he enjoyed working on home improvement projects, automobile restoration and was an avid Notre Dame sports fan. Survivors: Children, David William, Diane Mae, Daniel Robert, Douglas Roy and Dennis Lewis; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
