James Harry Ranson Byrd was born September 10 1899, in Callaway County, Missouri, the son of Peter Louis and Martha Ella (Dudley) Byrd. He died February 14, 1964.

James was married first to Viola Salmons, daughter of Willis Salmons, second to Jessie Fisher and third to Sarah ?. A daughter, Rosella (Byrd) Whitehead, was born to James but mother not noted.

James was a truck driver and lived in St. Louis, Missouri.

JAMES BYRD OF AUXVASSE DIED AT HOSPITAL HERE:

James Harry Ransom Byrd of Auxvasse died at 9:00pm Wednesday at Callaway Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for three weeks. He had been ill with a heart condition.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday at the Maupin Funeral Home in Auxvasse with burial in the Auxvasse Cemetery South of Auxvasse. The body will lie in state at the Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, tonight, then will be taken to the Auxvasse funeral home. He will lie in state until time for services.

Mr. Byrd was born on September 19, 1899, in Callaway County, Missouri, son of Peter and Martha Dudley Byrd.

He had worked as a truck driver most of his adult life, before becoming ill with a heart condition.

His wife preceded him in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Rosella Whitehead, Chula Vista, California; two brothers, Jewell Byrd of McCredie, Missouri and Lewis Byrd of Auxvasse, Missouri; one sister, Mrs. Hazel Knipp of Auxvasse, Missouri; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Dr. A.H. Domann, of Auxvasse, Missouri, pronounced death caused by Cerebral Hemorrhage due to Arteriosclerosis and Hypertension. The informant was Rosella Whitehead of Auxvasse.
