Born in Harlan County, KY, Mrs. Allen had lived in Jacksonville prior to moving to Callahan thirty years ago. She was a logistics specialist for Honeywell at Blount Island.
She was preceded in death by her parents Imogene and Eugene Gambrel. Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband of thirty one years, James (Jimmy) Allen; brother, Larry B. Gambrel (Lil) of Mountain Home, Idaho; children: Kimberly Turner (Jerry) and Donna Armstrong (Rickey) of Callahan, Deenna Williams (Bert) of Starke, Christina Jordan (Howard) and April Allen, both of Yulee. Seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Allen will be conducted at 10 AM Monday in the Crossroads Family Worship Center, 542284 US Highway 1, Callahan with Rev. Herb Phinazee, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Jones Cemetery. Viewing and visitation with the family will be on Sunday from 2 until 4 at the church.
