aka Robt. Emory. Christened Oct. 30, 1727. Son of John Amory and Sarah Wilson Amory, buried here. Robt. had worked w/Ludovic Grant, a Scot trader married to a Cherokee in the Nation; then worked at the Keowee trading post in upper So.Carolina with the Smith brothers; licensed to trade with the Creek Indian in 1750; he resided with the Creeks until 1758 in the Nation; and is said to have had at least one son, the Creek Warrior Emory, or Emarhee. Robt joined the British Army and he leaves the public record thereafter until 1787 when he filed a lawsuit to recover family lands lost in the Revolution. His will was filed March 19. 1790 & entered for probate March 30, 1790 in Charleston.
