J. G. FAFLIK DIES, HEADED SHOE CHAIN
Joseph G. Faflik, who started the Faflik Shoe Stores chain in 1906 and retired in 1956 when he sold the business, died Tuesday in Doctors Hospital, Coral Gables, Florida. He was 68. Besides operating his expanding business, Mr. Faflik was active in several organizations. He was a past exalted ruler of Lakewood Elks Lodge 1350, a former president of the Exchange Club, a member of the Knights of Colum-bus, and of the Knights of St. John. Mr. Faflik lived in Florida for several years before his retirement but moved to Hollywood, Florida permanently in 1956. He was president of the St. Vincent De Paul Society of the Nativity Catholic Church of Hollywood and treasurer of the Particular Council of Broward County of the society. Mr. Faflik helped organize the Nativity Catholic Church in Hollywood in 1960. Surviving are his wife, Loretta, a son, Dr. Robert, a chiropodist who operates on the Foot Health Center at the Kamm's plaza shopping center and a sister. Before moving to Florida 1956, Mr. Faflik lived at 21625 Mastick Rd., Fairview Park. services will be at St. Rose Catholic Church, 11411 Detroit Ave. NW. at 11 a.m. Monday.
