Barbara retired from Penn College. She enjoyed shopping and the beach.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Kenneth E. Bower Sr.; her daughter, Christy A. (Canda) Turner of Williamsport; her step-son, Kenneth E. (Kim) Bower Jr. of Cogan Station; brother, Dr. Richard (Sharon) Banks of Hilton Head, S.C.; sisters, Susan (Steve) Kyper of Ebensburg, Cindy (Donald) Yerger of Middleburg, and three grandchildren, Timothy Jr., Kyle, and Allyson Turner.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with the Rev. Connie A. Waugh officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the Diabetes Research Department, or the Dermatology Department, c/o Geisinger Health System Foundation, 100 N. Academy Ave., Danville, PA 17821.
