Ken was born August 30, 1929 in Pueblo Colorado. He was married to his wife Betty for 57 years. She left us this past December. Ken is survived by his 3 children: Lance, Sheryl, and Michelle, and his 4 grandchildren Courtney, Matthew, Samantha, and Nicholas. Ken served in the Army and Reserves from 1948 to 1955. He graduated from the University of Denver with his Bachelor of Science in Law in 1954 and his Juris Doctor in 1955. That same year he married Betty and moved to California. Ken practiced law from 1957 until retiring in 1998. He moved to Garden Grove in 1961 and was very active in the community throughout his life.

Ken was elected to the GGUSD School Board and served for 25 years: he was president of the board in 1976, 1979, 1986, 1991, and 1995. He was a member of the California School Boards Association and former member of the Board of Directors and of the Delegate Assembly. Member and former Secretary of Orange County School Board Association; Past President of Garden Grove Rotary Club Member; former Director and Past President of Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce; Director and President (1985) and (2000) of G.G. Strawberry Festival Association; Chair Garden Grove Masonic Lodge Public Education week; Member 53 years Benevolent Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) Lodge No. 1952, serving as Presiding Justice at the time of his death; auditor of Miss Garden Grove Scholarship Pageant; served as Judge Pro Tem, Superior and Municipal Courts. Community Service Awards and Activities: 2011 Garden Grove Elks Lodge 1952 Elk of the Year 2010 Garden Grove Masonic Lodge 351 Hiram Award; 2009 Women's Division of Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce Award; GGUSD Classified Employees Association Accommodation; Cypress College 1987 Americana Award for Garden Grove Citizen of the Year; 1987 GG Elks Lodge No. 1952l; California School Boards Association's Certificate of Service 1984 Man of the Year; Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce 1980; Life membership California School Personnel Commissioner's Association; Life membership Personnel Commissioner's Association of So.
