Johann and Anna Maria [Schwartz] Auer were born in Baden, Germany, and immigrated to America in 1852. They located in Medford, Indiana for a short time and came to Minnesota in 1866. They homesteaded just east of Albany. They were the first to settle on the north side of Two Rivers stream. Many years later their homestead was the Hoeschen farm.
